Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh has received the Innovative Leadership Award In Globalisation from the Malaysian Institute of Directors. The award is in recognition of his outstanding leadership in building Perodua into a global brand and also the success the company achieved in the past 18 years. Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak presented the award to Aminar and 16 other corporate leaders from the various industries at a dinner held in Kuala Lumpur on 4 May 2011.
“I am truly honoured and humbled to receive this Innovative Leadership Award for Globalisation from the Malaysian Institute of Directors,” Aminar said.
“This award is truly an honour not only for me but also for everyone at Perodua and our business partners,” he added.
Perodua is the number one automotive company in terms of sales for the past 5 consecutive years. Last year the company sold 188,600 units of cars. Perodua exports completely built up (CBU) vehicles to 7 countries namely Brunei, Fiji, Mauritius, Nepal Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the UK. The company also exports engine components to Indonesia, Japan and Pakistan.
