There is a new Hybrid from Honda and it has just been unveiled at the New York Motor Show together with its petrol siblings. This all new 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid gets upgraded with a lithium-ion battery which is a first for a Honda hybrid and it returns an estimated 44 mpg in city driving (estimated).
It is equipped with a 110-hp 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission. The previous Honda Civic Hybrid has the older nickel-metal hydride battery and a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine.
Despite the recent natural disasters in Japan, Honda has reassured its global customers that its Civic production is on track and nothing is delayed. Arrival in Malaysia is still a year away at best and we will keep you updated on its proposed showroom arrival. Meanwhile sales of the Insight Hybrid is strong with more than 3,000 units done to date in Malaysia.
