Santa Claus arrived early for the children from House of Parents without Partners, Pusat Jagaan Siddharthan, Agathian Shelter, Pusat Jagaan Rumah Juara, Pusat Jagaan Anbesivam & Rumah Pengajian Xavier not in a sleigh but in classic vintage cars! Candy canes were exchanged for a sumptuous Japanese spread organised by the Xenri Group of Restaurants in the spirit of giving and sharing. The collaboration between The Malayan Vintage Car Register (MVCR), a local club of enthusiastic and active vintage car owners with Xenri Group of Restaurants, an award-winning Japanese fine dining restaurant resulted in a day of joy for 30 underprivileged children. This event was also co-sponsored by Elken Foundation, a community arm of Elken Sdn Bhd that included Elken staff.
Havells Sylvania, a leading international lighting provider and manufacturer, also joined in the goodwill gesture by donating much-needed lighting fixtures to two of the orphanage homes.
The children were bursting with excitement upon seeing the exhibited classic vintage cars, eager to inspect them closely. The children were chauffeur driven in their vintage favourites by the car owners to a hearty meal and fun entertainment at Xenri Garden D’Garden Terrace at Jalan P.Ramlee. “This is one of the many special events that MVCR has organised for the underprivileged children in our hope of spreading some cheer and love”, said President of The Malayan Vintage Car Register (MVCR), Michael Sundram. Marketing Director of Xenri Group of Restaurants Chang Sook Wan shared her thoughts, “Being in the food business, we aim to serve our customers well.
