After a few months of uncertainty due to its parent company crisis in Korea, South Korea’s SUV specialist is back in full operation with a strong lineup of refreshed models ready to tackle the global market. Its brand guardian here in Malaysia, Competitive Supreme has just released to us its full model lineup which starts with the all too familiar Rexton 2.7, then there is Actyon pickup truck and the Actyon Sports SUV.
With an all new nose and rear treatment the Kyron is back looking more aggressive and Malaysia’s largest and best value for money MPV the Stavic returns with a refreshed look and an asking price that is very hard to ignore at RM99,999.00.
Yes you read it right, for just under RM100,000.00, you can drive home this 11 seater super luxury diesel powered family MPV.
The SsangYong Stavic features a 4-wheel independent suspension. Many people will drive a Stavic purely for its passenger carrying capacity. There are many options available for how the seating can be arranged. You can manipulate the cabin space to make the Stavic capable of carrying 7, 9 or 11 passengers. If you opt for the seven-seat option, then without a doubt, you will be able to carry huge amounts of passenger luggage as well. The second row of seats can swivel round to face rearwards, transforming the inside of the SsangYong Stavic into a moving lounge. Any unused seats can also be folded down to become tables for a quick meeting or just a game of cards on a family holiday drive. The Stavic is exceptionally well appointed with seats bound in leather and plush carpets line the floor areas. There are plenty of storage places for bits and pieces, and there are enough drink holders for all passengers needing to quench their thirst. Some of the features the Stavic has are: a full climate control air conditioning system on all areas, auto headlight activation and shut-off, electric wing mirrors and an auto dimming rear view mirror. Under the bonnet there is a powerful 2.7 Litre Xdi turbo-diesel engine that delivers 121 kW of power and a maximum torque of 340 Nm that is mated to a 5-speed Mercedes Benz sourced automatic transmission with T-Tronic (a manual shift feature). The Stavic sips just 9.7-liters for an average 100 kilometers driven.
The Actyon SUV comes with a powerful 1998 cc four-cylinder diesel common rail unit that develops a 141hp. It does a good job of propelling it along leaving the competition behind, thanks to 310Nm of torque. The Actyon SUV uses only 8.0 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers in the Extra Urban test cycle and is frugal whilst being EURO4 complaint. An electronic shift on the fly part time four-wheel drive system offers impressive on road and off road handling. Interior features, such as an 8-way leather clad power driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar support, tilt adjustable steering wheel, front centre arm rest, height & tilt adjustable front head rests, electric folding door mirrors, a dash fit audio system with controls on the steering wheel, speed sensing door locks, three rear headrests and a rear centre arm rest.
This Korean SUV manufacturer has the only truck in the segment that carries a 2-liter diesel engine. The cabin comes with a car like interior, which was a segment first and it had decent amount of room for five passengers to travel in comfort, both in front and in the back. The Actyon Sports comes with steering wheel mounted audio controls, cruise control, climate control and even leather seats. Powering the Actyon Sports is a 2.0-litre turbo diesel, four-cylinder (104kW, 310Nm) mated to a five-speed auto gearbox, which is an industry first on engine capacity and gear ratios and this allows the Actyon Sports to return an impressive fuel consumption of just 7.8-liters for every 100 kilometers driven.
