GAC GS3 EMZOOM Launched In Malaysia, 2 Variants From RM118,900

Warisan Tan Chong (WTC) introduces the new GAC GS3 EMZOOM about 3 years after the 1st GS3.

Last night, WTC hosted a launch event for the all-new GAC GS3 EMZOOM. This is a car was launched in China back in early 2023 and was part of WTC’s long term plan with the brand here. They have been hard at work behind the scenes preparing local-assembly, however the first batch of units will arrive fully-imported from China. Now let us share the full specifications and pricing for this Proton X50 and Chery Omoda 5 rival.

The GAC GS3 EMZOOM is available in two variants at launch – Exclusive at RM118,900 and Premium R at RM128,900. Both models are powered by the same 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which outputs 177PS at 5,500rpm and 270Nm of torque between 1,400 and 4,500rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. 0-100km/h takes just 8 seconds. This performance puts it ahead of the Proton X50 and Chery Omoda 5 but the difference is marginal. In terms of dimensions it trades blows with those two rival cars as well.

7-Year/180,000km Engine & Powertrain Warranty exclusively in addition to its standard 5 years/150,000km warranty
Limited GAC Smart Watch Key, which functions like the original car key with the additional connectivity features of a smart watch

There are currently 15 official GAC dealers in Malaysia, and the total number of showrooms and service centres in Peninsular Malaysia is expected to be 20 by Q3 2024. Expansion to East Malaysia is in the pipeline.
