BMW i4 And BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé Facelifted
4-door BMW 4 Series and BMW i4 get facelifted 3 months after the 2-door models.
At the end of January 2024, BMW gave the 4 Series Coupé and Convertible family a facelift or ‘Life Cycle Impulse’. The update was minor, bringing new headlights and taillights, electrified 6-cylinder powertrains, and other new options for the exterior and interior. So, what’s new with the 4-door models?
The line-up has been expanded with a new BMW i4 xDrive40 with an output of 401hp and a range of 444-548km. The rest of the line-up includes the i4 M50 xDrive, i4 eDrive40 and i4 eDrive35.
Here a short list of the most important changes:
- New design updates for the headlights, including LED units, vertical light sources, Welcome Light Animation, and optional Adaptive LED Headlights with matrix high beam and Laserlight.
- The BMW kidney grille has been redesigned with a new mesh structure. The grille surround can be optioned in black high-gloss as an option.
- Exterior updates include an optional M Sport package with black diffuser and larger exhaust tips, new M Performance parts, new paint color options like Cape York metallic and Fire Red metallic, and new wheel designs.
- Interior updates include the BMW Curved Display, new steering wheel designs, sport seats, ventilation/climate controls moved to touch displays, ambient lighting, and options like Vernasca leather and glass trim elements. All models now come with BMW iDrive with QuickSelect.
- The BMW i4 electric variants are now available in four models with improved range up to 548 km and faster DC charging up to 205 kW. Home charging optimization features added.
- Combustion engine 4 Series Gran Coupe variants offered with gas/diesel options, mild hybrid tech, 8-speed transmission, and rear or xDrive AWD.
- Chassis tuned for sporty dynamics with electromechanical steering, air suspension (i4), and available M Sport suspension upgrades.
- Updated driver assistance systems like front collision warning, parking assistants, lane control, and optional Driving Assistant Professional.
- Upgraded BMW iDrive 8.5 with touch controls, quick access menu, natural language assistant, cloud navigation, wireless updates, and My BMW App integration.
Besides that the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé and BMW i4 continue on unchanged.
