SM Sport 110R Joins Local ‘Kapchai’ Market

Penang-based motorcycle manufacturer MForce Bike Holdings has launched the new SM Sport 110R, which is an entry-level kapchai aimed at those who look for affordability, style and durability.

SM Sport is a new local motorcycle brand by MForce Bike Holdings, which is also the local distributor of SYM, Benelli and Keeway motorcycles. Developed in collaboration with Qian Jiang Motorcycle (the brand owner of Benelli), the 110R has 30% local content that will be increased to 60% in the future.

The 110R comes with an air-cooled 109 cc, SOHC Euro 3 engine that produces 6.4 hp and 7 Nm of torque. The mill is mated with a four-speed transmission.

Other features of the 110R include daytime running light, LED front and rear signal light, Kayaba (KYB) suspension system, 10-litre storage space with a 5V USB port, safety key switch, as well as tubeless tyres.

Available in Bumblebee Yellow, Ocean Blue and Ruby Red, the new SM Sport 110R retails at RM3,788 (without GST) and comes with a warranty of two years or 20,000 km.

According to General Manager of Mforce Bike Holdings, Asri Ahmad, the company is currently planning to export the 110R and other mopeds and scooters to Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and other Asian countries soon. He added that an array of new SM Sport models is also in the pipeline.
